On view from 8 December, 1995 – 21 January, 1996, Heavy Mental was an exhibition about the mind’s relation to the body as acted out through the imagination, as well as the origins of things and how things come to form. The objects and images on display, therefore, were metaphors for the imagination and the creative process, or that which takes place both in the studio and in the presence of the viewer.

This 24-page softcover catalogue features images of the work included in the exhibition by artists Lyn Carter, Magdalen Celestino, Tom Dean, and Ron Giii. Also included is an introduction by curator Philip Monk and artist statements from each of the participating artists.
