WREN JACKSON
Originally from Vancouver, B.C., Wren moved to Toronto in 1983. She studied Film History and Structure of Language part time at York University and co-produced her first curatorial project (May 1984), a salon-style fundraising event for Art Culture Resource Centre on Queen Street West. After completing a four year program in experimental arts at the Ontario College Of Art and Design, Wren opened Tableau Vivant Gallery (1995 - 2000), in the heart of what has become the West Queen West Art and Design District.

Simultaneously, she worked as a curator for Wave Gallery (1997) on Morrow Avenue, successfully shifting the gallery’s focus from Photography to a mixed program of Contemporary Art. Since closing Tableau Vivant in 2000, Wren has pursued her own painting and photography practice that has included solo and group exhibitions, travel and independent study.
